چکیده فارسی
شاخص جهانی نوآوری (GII) جنبه های مختلف اکوسیستم نوآوری را در کشورها اندازه گیری کرده و به طور گسترده به عنوان منبع داده برای تجزیه و تحلیل شایستگی نوآوری ملی استفاده می شود. از آنجا که مطالعات مختلف ، دیدگاه های مختلف GII را مطالعه می کنند، این مطالعه شکاف های تحقیقاتی را برای تمرکز بر مولفه های ورودی و خروجی نوآوری بر طرف می کند. از طریق آنالیز مجموعه‌های فازی/تحلیل مقایسه کیفی (fsQCA) داده‌های چند ساله، دو نوع راه‌حل را شناسایی می‌کنیم: ترکیبی از همه عوامل موثر به جز MS، و ترکیبی از همه عوامل موثر برای خروجی‌های دانش و فناوری. KTO) و خروجی های خلاقانه (CO). یافته‌ها رویکردهایی برای GII به منظور تصدیق انتخاب متغیرها ارائه می‌کنند.

Abstract
The Global Innovation Index (GII) measures various aspects of the innovation ecosystem in countries and is widely used as the data source to analyze national innovation competence. While various studies work on different perspectives of GII, this study fills the research gap to focus on the elements of Innovation Input and Innovation Output. Through fuzzy sets/Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) analysis of multiple years of data, it identifies two types of solutions: a combination of all the antecedents except MS, and a combination of all antecedents for both outcomes, i.e., Knowledge and technology outputs (KTO) and Creative outputs (CO), respectively. The findings provide GII insights to justify the selection of the variables.

۱.Introduction
The Global Innovation Index (GII) measures various aspects of the innovation ecosystem in countries, created jointly by the SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University, INSEAD, and the World Intellectual Property Organization, (Cornell University et al., 2020). Since its berth, GII has widely been used as the basis to analyze national comparative innovation competence. For example, studies employ the GII dataset to examine various aspects of national innovation (Al-Sudairi & Bakry, 2014; Vlasova et al., 2017; Carpita & Ciavolino, 2017; Jankowska et al., 2017; L´opez-Cabarcos et al., 2021).
GII (an index) consists of two sub-indices, Innovation Input and Innovation Output, where the former captures elements that enable innovative activities in a country, while the latter represents the result of those innovative activities (Cornell University et al., 2020). GII has become popular and is widely used as the basis to analyze national comparative innovation competence. Hence, the literature examines the GII structure to demonstrate the internal relationships from different perspectives by applying various research methods. Sohn et al. (2016) raise a concern over whether GII ever considers the structural relationships among the elements and their corresponding variables. Sohn et al.
